Abstract

This report evaluates the health and environmental effects of lead exposure, drawing on scientific evidence concerning its sources, absorption, distribution, metabolism, and toxicity. It examines effects on neurological, cardiovascular, renal, reproductive, developmental, and other systems, with particular attention to vulnerable populations. The report also considers environmental exposure pathways, dose-response relationships, epidemiological findings, and available evidence for assessing risks associated with lead exposure.
