Abstract

This document presents Burkina Faso’s submission to the INC on plastic pollution, structured using the response template. It states the treaty’s objective to end plastic pollution across the full life cycle and outlines substantive measures, including restricting problematic plastics, promoting circularity through recovery and recycling, improving waste management, and applying Basel and Bamako controls. It sets implementation elements such as guiding principles, national action plans, a science and technical body, and regulatory frameworks. It describes means of implementation via technical and financial assistance and negotiations. Additional elements include COP-driven adjustment mechanisms, institutional strengthening, awareness, pilot projects, and monitoring and evaluation.
