Abstract
This summary for decision-makers presents the current state of thinking on how the potential for greenhouse gas emission reductions in buildings can be realised. It was compiled by the Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative, a United Nations Environment Programme-hosted partnership between the United Nations and public and private stakeholders in the building sector that promotes sustainable building practices globally. The report draws together the findings of three years of research by the United Nations Environment Programme Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative and its partners. It sets out priority actions that can be taken by policymakers and industry stakeholders at local, regional and global levels to achieve economically beneficial and significant reductions in building-related greenhouse gas emissions.
