Report of the Inception Workshop for Phase II of the East Africa Dental Amalgam Phase-down Project

The workshop was organized jointly by the Ministries of Environment Water and Natural Resources of Kenya and Health of Kenya, UNEP Regional Office for Africa and the UNEP Chemicals Branch Geneva. Phase II continues the efforts of the East Africa Dental Amalgam Phase down Project funded by the Norway Official Development Assistance (ODA) funding in the period December 2012- Dec 2013. It will build on lessons learnt, expand demonstration activities to additional dental clinics and examine approaches to ensure the sustainability of dental amalgam phase down addressing specific needs for mercury waste management.
