It reviews industry structure, trends and contributions, including employment generation, economic output and community impacts, while highlighting challenges such as environmental pressure, fragmented governance and limited accountability. The document describes sector-specific practices across tour operators, hospitality and cruise lines, and identifies voluntary initiatives, policy frameworks and stakeholder collaborations. It emphasises the importance of partnerships, improved planning, resource management and corporate responsibility to balance growth with conservation and ensure long-term sustainability.
