Abstract

This report is a Terminal Review of a UNEP/GEF project entitled “PCB Reduction in Cameroon through the use of local expertise and the development of national capacities” (GEF ID 5367) and implemented between 2016 and 2023. The project's overall development goal was to “increase national capacity to identify, manage, and dispose of existing PCBs in Cameroon in an environmentally responsible manner in line with the Stockholm Convention”. The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outputs, outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, the GEF and the relevant agencies of the project participating countries.
