Workshop Report: Capacity building workshop on the implementation of biodiversity and chemicals and waste multilateral environmental agreements

This is a workshop report on the Implementation of Biodiversity, Chemicals and Waste MEAs and Montevideo Programme V . The workshop took place from 26 to 28 November 2024, online and in person, at the Hôtel Fleur de Lys Point E in Dakar, Senegal. The workshop was organized by UNEP’s Law Division and BCRC-SCRC Senegal, the workshop was made possible thanks to the financial support from the Government of Finland, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and resources from the Environment Fund. The event brought together thirty-one representatives nominated by countries. These included MEA focal points, Montevideo Environmental Law Programme National Focal Points, and other government experts working across biodiversity and chemicals & waste from eight countries in West and Central Africa, two from the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) and six from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
