Advancing the biodiversity-climate nexus through MEAs: National implementation plans as catalysts for integrated action

The objective of this report is to enhance coherent implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Paris Agreement by:

1. Identifying opportunities to align policy cycles of national implementation plans (NIPs) for more integrated action,
2. Preparing a checklist and playbook for integrated action based on existing treaty commitments,
3. Assessing the extent of integration through content analysis of NIPs and national reports submitted by 14 Pacific Island States, and
4. Preparing case studies on integrated action from four Pacific Island States.
