Gender and Climate Change

On 23 March 2023, Patricia Kameri-Mbote, Director, Law Division, UNEP delivered a speech to the Women’s Law students and faculty, alongside participation in the final planning seminar of the Women’s, Children’s, and Nature’s Rights in Environmental Governance (WCNREG) project at the Department of Public & International Law at the University of Oslo. At the event, she presented on climate change is one facet of the triple planetary crisis, alongside biodiversity loss and pollution. This is her presentation on Gender and Climate, examining the impact of climate change, to see how women are disproportionately impacted. For example, food systems; water and energy and what can be done.
