OARE Module 6D: E-journal, E-books and Internet Resources: Other Useful Resources

Abstract

This document summarizes a 2017 training module that guides users to high-value discovery tools for e-journals, e-books, theses, and grey literature, with illustrated search strategies and interface cues. It highlights Google Custom Searches tailored to intergovernmental and nongovernmental sources, advising selectivity with large, relevance-ranked result sets. It introduces NDLTD for theses, OpenGrey for European grey literature, OpenDOAR for repository contents, and BASE for multidisciplinary open-access records, noting filters, abstracts, language tags, and links to full text when available. It also points to Dgroups for development-focused discussion communities and explains registration.
