SWITCH Africa Green Quarterly Report: October - December 2015

Abstract

This report provides a high-level summary of the Switch Africa Green programme's operational progress from October to December 2015. The document details the allocation of over eight million United States dollars in grants to various organisations across six pilot countries, including Burkina Faso, Mauritius, and South Africa, to foster eco-entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Its scope encompasses national stakeholder workshops, grant award ceremonies, and technical training sessions designed to align project components such as policy support and green business development. Methods involved multi-stakeholder consultations, preliminary screening of proposals, and site-specific surveys to map the resource efficiency of small and medium enterprises. General findings highlight the successful engagement of women-led agro-processing industries in Ghana and identify critical needs for better communication and financial resources to encourage the adoption of green technologies.
