Application to Global Mercury Partnership - Basel Convention Regional Centre for South America

This document presents BCRC Argentina’s expression of interest, dated September 6, 2023, to join the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership. It describes the Centre’s mandate under the Basel Convention Conference of the Parties, hosting since 1999 by Argentina’s National Institute of Industrial Technology, and its role supporting authorities across South America. It notes work aligned with the Basel, Stockholm, and Minamata Conventions and intentions to strengthen inventories, national plans, and synergies with the Rotterdam and Stockholm agreements amid pressures.
