The State of the Environment 1972-1982

The present report focuses on the changes (positive or negative) that occurred in the state of the world environment in the decade following the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment convened at Stockholm in June 1972. It attempts to evaluate the first ten years in which mankind has consciously and co-operatively attempted the rational management of a small planet.
