Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis for the Mediterranean Sea

The purpose of a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis is to assess the relative significance of the immediate and underlying causes of transboundary water problems. It evaluates the contribution of different sources to these issues and identifies possible measures to prevent or address them. The analysis provides the technical evidence needed to refine both National Action Plans and the Strategic Action Programme for international waters under the Global Environment Facility. It supports decision-making by establishing priorities, guiding the development of coordinated management actions, and ensuring that national and regional responses are based on a systematic assessment of transboundary environmental problems.
