Sustainable cooling

UNEP is releasing a new COP30 Factsheet Series exploring the most critical adaptation and mitigation themes shaping today’s global climate agenda. The series equips readers with clear, accessible insights into the debates, decisions, and expected outcomes across priority themes. Sustainable cooling is both an adaptation and mitigation solution. Cooling protects people, economies, schools, and health systems from extreme heat while cutting emissions and easing strain on power grids. It must be treated as essential infrastructure, on par with water and energy.
