Report of the Workshop on Environmental Guidelines for Municipal Wastewater Reuse in the Mediterranean Region

This report summarises the Workshop on Environmental Guidelines for Municipal Wastewater Reuse in the Mediterranean Region, held in Split from 11–13 June 1990. Organised by the Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC) under UNEP’s Mediterranean Action Plan, the workshop aimed to review and finalise guidelines for safe and sustainable wastewater reuse. Experts from 11 Mediterranean countries and international organisations (FAO, WHO, UNEP) contributed to refining the draft guidelines, which promote integrated approaches, environmental safeguards, and region-specific solutions. The workshop also recommended future training, translation into Arabic, and practical implementation in national projects.
