Statement on behalf of all Major Groups - Delivered on behalf of the nine Major Groups

This document presents a statement by Major Groups, delivered on behalf of nine constituencies during an informal consultation with Committee of Permanent Representatives in Nairobi on 9 September 2013. It welcomes the UNEP Governing Council decision on institutional arrangements (UNEP/GC27/2) and affirms Major Groups’ indispensable role in the emerging mechanism. Citing Agenda 21, it highlights NGOs’ expertise and urges strengthening existing system, including outreach via social media.
