Abstract
This brief outlines the strategic framework of the United Nations Environment Programme to support member states in integrating environmental dimensions into post-pandemic recovery. Contextualised within wider United Nations socio-economic responses, the document establishes four core response phases to manage emerging ecological risks. Its scope spans assessing medical waste management, evaluating zoonotic threats stemming from ecosystem deterioration, and promoting green fiscal stimuli to generate sustainable employment. Through methods involving technical advocacy, enhanced scientific research, and the virtual modernization of international governance, the document concludes that sustainable long-term economic resilience depends entirely on functioning economic models that operate in tandem with nature.
