Development and dissemination of a tailor-made set of outreach activities to sensitize and engage communities and stakeholders in Agra

This report presents an initiative aimed at addressing plastic pollution through community engagement, research, and behavioural change activities in an urban context. It outlines the project’s purpose of identifying plastic leakage sources, raising awareness, and promoting improved waste management practices among diverse stakeholders. The scope includes perception surveys, clean-up campaigns, trainings, and media outreach, supported by evidence-based methods and stakeholder consultations. Findings indicate widespread awareness of plastic impacts but limited adoption of alternatives due to availability and cost barriers, alongside gaps in waste collection and segregation systems. The activities engaged communities, generated data on waste patterns, and strengthened local capacity for sustained action and improved recycling practices.
