Across Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and North America, incorporating environmental rule of law into just transition processes provides a framework that both enables and reinforces just transition. While approaches differ depending on national contexts, fourteen case studies documented in the report highlight common trends identified through which environmental rule of law can advance just transition - including laws and institutions, rights-based approaches, meaningful civic engagement, justice systems and financing mechanisms.
