OARE Module 3: OARE Portal

This document explains how to use the OARE portal within Research4Life to locate and access environmental journals and books. It details accessing the website, institutional registration, login and auto-login, language options, and indicators that confirm successful authentication. It then presents navigation methods: browsing by journal title, subject, language, and publisher; opening books by title; and downloading full text in PDF or HTML, while noting limits when content is not licensed for an institution. It introduces supporting tools and collections, including Summon, Scopus, Environmental Index, ProQuest Environmental Science Collection, Google Scholar via the portal, reference sources, and free collections such as HighWire and DOAJ. It also shows how to view newly added items, export full journal or book lists to CSV, and use an appendix on access issues with practice exercises.
