UN-REDD Programme - Lessons Learned: Asia-Pacific

Abstract

This report presents lessons from the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Asia-Pacific. It reviews experiences in forest monitoring, benefit distribution systems, safeguards, stakeholder engagement and national strategy development across participating countries. Drawing on case studies from Indonesia, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Mongolia and Pacific Island countries, it identifies challenges, good practices and recommendations for strengthening readiness processes, governance, participation, capacity development and sustainable forest management.
