Outcome document from the Third Meeting of the IAEG-SDGs

This report documents the third meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators, held in Mexico City from 30 March to 1 April 2016, and summarises discussions on implementing the global indicator framework. It outlines deliberations on establishing and finalising a tier classification system, compiling global metadata, developing reporting mechanisms, and clarifying data flows from national to global level. It presents the agreed six-month work plan, including the creation of sub-groups and working groups, timelines for methodological development of indicators lacking agreed methods, and procedures for reviewing and refining indicators following adoption of the framework by the Economic and Social Council and the General Assembly. Contributions from countries, international organisations and other stakeholders are also recorded.
