Abstract

This document presents GAPROFFA’s submission to UNEP’s consultation on 19 chemicals-and-waste issues of concern under UNEA resolution 5/7. It identifies a Benin NGO active in agriculture, environment, health, and industry, working with Stockholm, Basel, Rotterdam, Minamata, and Bamako focal points. Inputs note glyphosate’s use, biomonitoring traces, and call for binding controls, economic tools, anti-corruption, baseline studies, and capacity building. On lead, it recommends binding measures, notes exposure via products and imported batteries, cites capacity gaps, and notes SAICM leadership and priority sectors. Priorities flagged include Lead, CiP, EDCs, HHPs, Lead in paint, Nanomaterials, and PFAS.
