This document presents draft recommendations of the ad hoc open-ended working group established by General Assembly resolution 72/277 “Towards a Global Pact for the Environment”. It identifies guiding objectives to further reinforce the protection of the environment, uphold obligations under international environmental law, strengthen implementation of environmental instruments, support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the outcome of Rio+20, and avoid undermining existing legal frameworks.
