Validated Terminal Review of the UNEP Project ‘Reducing marine litter by addressing the management of the plastic value chain in Southeast Asia’ (SEA circular) (PIMS ID 2010/SMA ID 130677) 2018 – 2024

This report is a management-led Terminal Review of the UNEP/COBSEA project implemented between 2018 and 2024. The project's overall development goal was to reduce the adverse impact of marine litter from plastic leakage by ensuring that less plastic was entering general solid waste streams where the coverage and effectiveness of the management systems was weak. The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, COBSEA, the Government of Sweden and the relevant government, private sector, civil society and academic agencies in the participating countries.
