Addendum to the Emissions Gap Report 2021: Assessment of Updated NDCs and Net-Zero Pledges - Note

This note provides a preliminary assessment of the implications of nationally determined contributions, other 2030 mitigation pledges and net-zero emissions announcements made after the cut-off dates used in the Emissions Gap Report 2021. It evaluates projected global greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 under the full implementation of national mitigation commitments and examines the resulting emissions gap. The document also updates the status of net-zero emissions pledges, with particular attention to members of the Group of Twenty, and considers implications for end-of-century global warming under current policies, 2030 pledges and net-zero pathways. The assessment excludes additional sectoral and non-state announcements made during the first week of the twenty-sixth Conference of the Parties due to attribution and overlap considerations.
