Contribution to the Nature-based Solutions Proposition for the Climate Action Summit 2019

This document outlines a climate summit initiative that presents the International Platform for Insetting as a mechanism to advance nature-based solutions within corporate supply chains. It situates the initiative within the limited uptake of such approaches despite their mitigation potential. Under this platform, sustainability leaders collaborate to further develop insetting as an emerging approach, working towards harmonising corporate activities with ecosystems through a cross-sector initiative established in 2015. The scope includes driving systemic change in supply chain climate action and mobilising private sector investment in sustainable landscapes. Methods involve stakeholder engagement, project implementation, and independent verification, while highlighting resilience, biodiversity protection, and broader sustainability benefits.
