Data Profile on Mercury with Special Emphasis on Data from the Mediterranean Region: IRPTC Data Profile Series Number Three

Data profiles for chemicals provide the information necessary to evaluate the potential hazards posed by chemicals to the health of man and his environment or indicate the absence of such information in publicly available literature. They are prepared by IRPTC mainly for the use of those who have the responsibility for the protection of human health and the environment from noxious effects of chemicals. The data profiles contain information on, inter alia, production and use, pathways into the environment, concentrations and transformation in the environment, toxicity to mammals and man, effects on non-mammalian organisms and plants, treatment of poisoning, and national and international recommendations and legal mechanisms for the control of chemicals in air, water, drinking water, wastes, soil, food and beverages, and consumer goods.
