Report on implementation of Decision-6 (AMCEN-12) - Thirteen session of African Ministerial Conference on the Environment

This document summarizes progress in implementing AMCEN Decision 6 on environmental education and technology-supported learning over 2008–2010, for reporting to AMCEN-13. It describes an online bilingual survey (February–May 2009) with 550 complete responses from 45 countries, finding widespread environmental education activities but limited eLearning capacity, with most organizations lacking eLearning strategies and relying on internal funding. It outlines partnerships with institutions such as InWEnt, UNESCO, and CEDARE; university-focused education-for-sustainable-development initiatives; and South–South collaboration. It reports establishment of a Pan-Africa eLearning for Environment Network with sub-regional hubs and 18 participating countries, alongside training and outreach.
