Heptachlor: Environmental Health Criteria 38

Abstract

Heptachlor is a white crystalline solid with a mild camphor odour. It is used as an insecticide. Gas chromatography with electron capture detection is the method most commonly used for heptachlor determination. Heptachlor has been used for more than 30 years as a stomach and contact insecticide, mainly in the control of termites and soil insects.
