Environmental management and disaster preparedness: lessons learnt from the Tokage Typhoon in Japan

Taking lessons learnt from the response that Japan mounted to prepare for the biggest typhoon to hit the islands in 2004 (Typhoon Tokage), the report emphasizes the cyclical impact of disasters and environment, and makes a strong case for the inclusion of environmental issues in disaster preparedness plans.
