Part II examines progress towards the 2020 goal of minimizing significant adverse effects of chemicals on human health and the environment. It covers international agreements and frameworks, reporting schemes and indicators, available knowledge on progress towards the goal, emerging policy issues, and other issues of concern. It also considers issues for which emerging evidence indicates risks to human health and the environment. The section concludes by assessing overall progress and lessons learned, with an annex addressing additional issues where emerging evidence indicates risks.
