Blue Carbon: Nationally Determined Contributions Inventory - Appendix

This appendix provides an inventory of existing Intended Nationally Determined Contributions and ratified Nationally Determined Contributions submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Serving as the appendix to Coastal blue carbon ecosystems Opportunities for Nationally Determined Contributions, this publication details coastal blue carbon ecosystems, namely mangroves, tidal saltmarshes and seagrasses, included as climate mitigation or adaptation solutions. The text demonstrates that twenty eight countries reference coastal wetlands for mitigation, while fifty nine countries include coastal ecosystems in adaptation strategies. National commitments are classified into specific categories including forestry, general mitigation, conservation, coastal zone management, and fisheries adaptation.
