Abstract

This national report provides an analysis of Grenada’s preparatory efforts for the Third International Conference on the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Drawing from an inclusive national consultation held in June 2013 under the theme “The Future We Want,” the report captures the insights, challenges and priorities of government, civil society, and private sector representatives. It reflects on Grenada’s progress under the Barbados Programme of Action and the Mauritius Strategy, while identifying persistent implementation gaps due to financial constraints, limited data systems, and low citizen participation. Key themes explored include climate resilience, social inclusion, economic transformation, food security, and green economy strategies. Emphasizing the urgency of political commitment, institutional coherence and citizen engagement, the report calls for integrated and tailored development strategies.
