Emissions Gap Report 2024 - Appendices

This document provides supplementary material to the Emissions Gap Report 2024, enhancing transparency and data integrity across global, national, and sectoral greenhouse gas (GHG) analyses. It comprises five appendices: Appendix A outlines the data sources, emission scopes, and methodological assumptions underpinning global emissions estimates, including uncertainty ranges and comparisons with past editions; Appendix B presents detailed information on nationally determined contributions (NDCs), long-term net-zero pledges, and country-specific emissions projections, with a focus on the G20, as well as methodological insights on NDC assessment and peaking analysis; Appendix C quantifies estimated GHG emissions gaps for 2030 and 2035, identifying sectoral trends and uncertainties; Appendix D supports evaluations of ambition-raising opportunities in the next round of NDCs, especially among G20 members; and Appendix E provides sector-specific transformation benchmarks, mitigation potential estimates, and required investments.
