What is the RSAP and how will it benefit policy makers?

This document outlines the Regional Strategy and Action Plan for the Valuation, Protection and/or Restoration of Key Marine Habitats in the Wider Caribbean 2021–2030, developed in response to the ongoing deterioration of marine and coastal habitats in the region. It presents strategic direction and practical actions intended to conserve and restore key habitats that sustain economic and social benefits for more than 134 million people. The document situates the initiative within wider economic and environmental contexts, noting the estimated annual value of the Caribbean Sea economy and the portion linked directly to marine and coastal habitats. It highlights governance approaches that encourage cross-boundary collaboration, integrated ocean management, and alignment with international environmental commitments, while identifying actions for policy makers to enable and implement the strategy.
