Actions on Air Quality in Asia and the Pacific - Executive Summary

This executive summary reviews policy actions undertaken by Member States across Asia and the Pacific under the mandate of United Nations Environment Assembly Resolution 3/8 on preventing and reducing air pollution to improve global air quality. Based on a 2020 survey of Member States and supporting literature, it complements the 2021 United Nations Environment Programme Actions on Air Quality report by providing a detailed assessment of sectoral measures, regional trends, and policy priorities. It highlights progress in industrial emissions, renewable energy, cleaner transport, waste management, household energy, sustainable agriculture, air quality monitoring, and integrated policies while identifying the need for stronger implementation, enforcement, and regional cooperation.
