Study on Industry Involvement in the Integrated Approach to Financing the Sound Management of Chemicals and Waste

The present study aims to clarify the range of activities that may be undertaken at different levels to operationalize the industry involvement component within the integrated approach to the sound management of chemicals and waste. It further examines options for monitoring industry engagement under the post-2020 framework or instrument, with the objective of strengthening international accountability. The study does not seek to define exhaustively the scope or specific actions that constitute industry involvement; rather, it provides contextual analysis and practical recommendations to inform decision-making in advance of the fifth session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management. It is also intended to serve as a reference for the development of implementation guidelines and to contribute to ongoing discussions on financing mechanisms under the post-2020 framework.
