Abstract

Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences submitted a request to join the United Nations Environment Programme Global Mercury Partnership in the area of mercury air transport and fate research. The university outlines research on mercury biogeochemical cycling in forest, freshwater and marine ecosystems, long-term environmental monitoring, bioaccumulation, remediation of contaminated sites, and modelling of atmospheric mercury to support efforts to reduce exposure of humans and wildlife.
