Strategic Plan on Management of Mercury in Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining In Cambodia 2012-2016

The Strategic Plan on Management of Mercury in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining was prepared by the Department of Environmental Pollution Control under the Ministry of Environment, with support from the United Nations Environment Programme. The strategic plan was developed in response to concerns about the safe use and environmentally sound management of intentional mercury use in artisanal and small-scale gold mining. It supports existing legal frameworks, national strategies, action plans, and other relevant technical documents. Technical support for its development was provided by the Chemicals Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme through the artisanal and small-scale gold mining project, with in-kind contributions from the Royal Government of Cambodia.
