The 7th Africa Animal Welfare Conference Action 2023

This document reports on the 7th Africa Animal Welfare Conference (Action 2023) held in Kigali, Rwanda, 25–27 September 2023, bringing together physical and virtual delegates from countries and institutions. It presents the conference purpose, theme, and programme, then records messages from organizers, government, and partner organizations on the animal welfare–environment–sustainable development nexus. The report summarizes sessions on farm and working animals, animal welfare in disasters, implementation of the United Nations Environment Assembly nexus resolution, faith-based perspectives, United Nations Environment Programme and Assembly processes, education and research trends, climate change, wildlife conservation, African Union coordination, and concluding resolutions and way forward.
