Africa Group - SPP - Regional Statement

This document presents a regional statement delivered on behalf of 54 African States during a meeting advancing the establishment of a Science-Policy Panel. It expresses gratitude to host governments and the process lead, welcomes the presented skeleton outline and text proposal, and supports using the text proposal as the basis for work while noting the need for refinements informed by other science-policy bodies. It outlines proposals for contact groups, including broader observer participation, increasing and balancing expert representation across health and environmental sectors for report review, and adopting a capacity-building option emphasizing inclusivity, local and indigenous knowledge, and technology transfer.
