Abstract

This report presents the status, trends and threats affecting Zimbabwe’s biodiversity, drawing on assessments of the country’s ecosystems, species and biological resources to provide an overview of biodiversity condition and conservation. It examines the implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, including progress across sectors and cross-sector collaboration to achieve biodiversity objectives. The report reviews measures to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity, assesses progress towards the Convention on Biological Diversity 2010 targets and its contribution to the Strategic Plan, and identifies challenges, priorities and actions to strengthen biodiversity management and support the achievement of national conservation goals.
