International Environmental Information System INFOTERRA in the Soviet Union: 10 Years of Operation

This brochure describes the Soviet Union’s cooperation with UNEP’s International Environmental Information System (INFOTERRA) over its first decade of operation, outlining the system’s purpose, structure, tools, and information services. It explains how the USSR organized national participation through designated focal points and sectoral sources, including the role of VINITI and related scientific and technical information systems, and how user requests were handled through national and international directories.
