Country Level Impacts of Climate Change (CLICC) Project: VIET NAM – 3/2016

This pilot report presents a proposed template for recording and presenting observed and projected climate impacts at country level for Viet Nam. It aims to test the feasibility of compiling climate impact information in a consistent and transparent format. The document sets out sectoral assessments for agriculture, fishery, food security and livestock, including impact ratings, confidence levels, data quality scores, time periods and metadata identifiers. Observed impacts include reduced aquaculture productivity, variability in crop yields and livestock losses due to storms, floods and drought. Projected impacts to 2030 and 2050 indicate reduced fishery profits and significant declines in rice and maize yields under climate change and sea level rise scenarios, supported by expert judgement and medium-rated data quality assessments.
