Abstract

Water is a unique and vital resource. In Latin America and the Caribbean major rivers, lakes, and aquifers are shared by two or more countries. The region is characterized by the greatest availability of freshwater resources. However, the distribution of water to all nations is heterogeneous, which increases the risk of being used or adopted inequitably.
