Review of the UNEP Quality of Project Supervision

The objective of the UNEP Quality of Project Supervision (QPS) review was to assess the quality and rigour of the project supervision work that forms a key part of the oversight role of DGEF with respect to GEF projects, and to better understand the supervision and management (implementation support) roles that are involved in the successful implementation of non-GEF UNEP projects. The review was used to triangulate and supplement data and findings gathered through the parallel GEFEO study, to provide insights to improve both UNEP project supervision and the review methods themselves. To aid comparisons with the GEF EO supervision review, UNEP's Evaluation Office selected GEF projects from among the sample used by GEFEO and included two additional non-GEF funded UNEP projects.
