Background note - Capacity building workshop: Advancing effective Multilateral Environmental Agreements implementation in Central Asia: Promoting synergies and rights-based approaches to combat pollution

This is a concept note for the Capacity building workshop on Advancing effective Multilateral Environmental Agreements implementation in Central Asia: Promoting synergies and rights-based approaches to combat pollution that will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 17-19 June 2025. This capacity-building workshop aims to advance the effective implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) at the national level in the Central Asia region to combat pollution. This workshop is organised by UNEP Law Division in collaboration with the UNEP Central Asia Office and in partnership with the BRS Secretariat, the Minamata Secretariat and the UNECE Secretariats of the Aarhus Convention and Air Convention.
