Abstract
This report is an analysis of how various sectors interlinked with the marine and coastal environment can transition towards a green economy. By focusing on industries such as shipping, fisheries, tourism, marine-based renewable energies, and deep-sea mineral extraction, the document examines the impacts and opportunities associated with these activities. It identifies that shifting to sustainability can improve human well-being and social equity while simultaneously fostering more productive oceans and economic growth. Methods include evaluating ecosystem services, promoting technological advances, and implementing policy and regulatory frameworks. The findings highlight that transitioning to a green economy in the blue world is essential for sustainable development, poverty eradication, and managing critical marine ecosystems for current and future generations.
